Download and install the application WinSCP.
Follow instruction on WinSCP site to the install application.
When you open WinSCP for the first time, you will need to enter the hostname to which you're connecting and your user name. You will be able to save these settings in WinSCP so they will appear when you open WinSCP again.
At the WinSCP login screen, enter “secd.unl.edu” without the quotes in the “Host name” field. Alternatively you could type the server’s IP: 129.93.94.19
In the “User name” text field, type in your account name.
In the “Password” text field, type in your password.
Then click the “Login” button.
Click “Yes” in the Warning pop-up window to proceed with connecting to the host. Note: This window should only appear the first time you log in.
Once connected, the left-hand side of the window will show your local computer and the right-hand side of the window will show your home directory on the server.
In some instances, you will need to move to a higher directory. Use the pop-down menu at the top of the window to choose a higher directory.
Next an Authentication Banner will appear to confirm your connection to the SECD host.
Click the “Continue” button to close this window.
